An early test of my hands-free bird photographing thing-a-ma-jig.
I have a great love for birds. I’m not fanatical in the sense that I know all types and species but I’m intrigued by their grace and beauty. They are everywhere but still very mysterious; You don’t often have the opportunity to see them in great detail. They’re always moving, jittery when not in flight. The Pederson’s field guide was the primary inspiration for this project, the illustrations are very detailed and pretty. It got me thinking about capturing birds in flight against uncluttered backgrounds. It got me to engineer and build this thing….so the birds and I can be closer.

What a great image! Your hands-free thing-a-ma-jig sounds interesting. Sharon
Paul, I fully intended to respond to the earlier email on your new special avian engineeing project. It is very ingenious and seems to work quite well. The shot on this email is excellent, nice work. The trailer looks pretty retro with its blue wheels and “baby moons”.Nice job on the restoration to you both. The studio is a thing of beauty and very organized as well as tidy. I recognize such things. Richard
Fantastic work Paul, Love it, I am that avid birder that travels every where to see lifers and the elusive birds to add to my life list. All birds you’ve used are truly backyard but are some of my Favs. The Black Capped chickadee is amazing, the Northern Cardinals are beautiful, the American tree sparrow is cool, and the triple shots of the white throat-ed Sparrow is spectacular. I will be following you as you prepare your site , if you ever wish to venture north to the Lakes of Canada north of Toronto there will always be a room available.
Keep up the great work.
Wayne
